AI in Motion: Virtual Influencer Creation and Interactive Practice for Hualien Junior High School Students
On October 19, 2025, National Hualien Commercial High School and Jing-Yeu International Ltd. held “AI in Motion: Virtual Character Creation and Interactive Practice,” inviting students from several junior high schools in Hualien City. The workshop let students experience AI in motion firsthand, from creating their own avatars to using AI algorithms for full-body motion capture and real-time interaction. Virtual influencer technology that once seemed out of reach became something every student could explore.
Through practical work, the workshop aimed to show students that a school needs only a computer and a wide-angle webcam to use AI algorithms for full-body motion capture. Combined with a self-designed avatar, these tools form a complete virtual influencer interaction system. AI becomes a digital creation tool students can experience and apply, rather than an abstract term.

From Watching Virtual Influencers to Becoming One
As AI and imaging technologies mature, virtual influencers and presenters are increasingly used in entertainment, marketing and education. For most junior high school students, however, these technologies had remained something seen on a screen, with few opportunities for hands-on experience.

VRoid Studio: Creating a Personal Avatar from Scratch
In the first stage, the instructor guided students in using VRoid Studio for 3D avatar modeling. VRoid Studio’s intuitive interface and accessible controls suit students trying 3D modeling for the first time.
Following demonstrations and step-by-step guidance, students adjusted:
Hairstyles, hair volume and strand direction
Eyes, iris colors, facial proportions and features
Clothing, accessory styles and overall character concepts

This process introduced basic 3D character modeling while enabling students to create distinctive avatars quickly. The instructor then showed them how to export their work in VRM format as the foundation for subsequent interactive applications.
Redpill GO: Making Avatars Move with Their Creators
The second stage focused on practical use of Redpill GO. Students imported their VRM characters from VRoid into Redpill GO, then:
Set the position and framing of the wide-angle webcam
Enabled full-body motion capture and facial expression detection
Selected suitable backgrounds and screen layouts

Once configured, students could simply move or speak naturally in front of the camera. Their avatars followed their movements and expressions in real time. Interactive effects that previously required expensive tracking equipment could now be achieved with a computer and webcam, greatly lowering barriers to teaching and creative production.
Redpill GO is more than animation playback software. It is an interactive avatar platform combining motion capture, real-time interaction and content presentation, with applications in teaching presentations, themed tours and virtual hosting.

Hualien-Themed Group Projects: Virtual Influencers Introduce Their Hometown
To help students turn technology into meaningful content, the workshop included a group assignment: “A Virtual Influencer Introduces Hualien.”
Each group completed the following tasks:
Develop a theme: Focus on Hualien’s attractions, culture, food or everyday stories.
Create a character: Build an avatar in VRoid to serve as the group’s virtual presenter or influencer.
Write a script: Prepare the narration and key presentation points introducing their hometown.
Assign operating roles:
One student operated the virtual influencer, performing with movements and expressions in front of the camera.
One student handled PowerPoint slide changes to advance the content in line with the script.
One student handled script prompting and timekeeping kept the presentation running smoothly.
Other members helped plan the visual presentation and revise the script.
With clear roles, students practiced teamwork, presentation and content design as well as technical operation.

Presentations and Awards: Developing Work and Communication Skills
In the final stage, groups took turns presenting their results. Distinctive avatars appeared on screen, introducing Hualien from a virtual influencer’s perspective. Some presented attractions as tour guides, others shared everyday local stories, and others combined futuristic imagination with local culture in their character designs.
On stage, students concentrated on gestures and lines in front of the camera. On screen, avatars waved, nodded and explained in synchrony. Teachers and classmates watched AI technology become a tangible learning outcome.
At the end, the instructor and school teachers evaluated the work according to:
Completeness and creativity of character design
Depth and structure of the hometown theme
Coordination and fluency of the presentation and performance
Outstanding teams received awards recognizing their effort and encouraging further exploration of AI and digital creation.
Educational Value and Future Applications: From an Experience to Curriculum Development
“AI in Motion” was both a technology experience and an example of the school’s efforts toward future-oriented education. By combining VRoid and Redpill GO, the workshop demonstrated several curriculum possibilities:
Computing and multimedia courses: Introduce 3D modeling, motion capture, video streaming and content production.
Performing arts and language courses: Use avatars for reading aloud, drama or multilingual presentations.
Marketing and business practice courses: Help students understand practical uses of virtual spokespersons, brand identity and digital content marketing.
For junior high school students, the workshop was an introduction to AI and digital creation. For National Hualien Commercial High School, it was an important starting point for early engagement, local connections and developing future digital talent.
Support and Vision from Jing-Yeu International Ltd.
Jing-Yeu International Ltd. provided comprehensive technical and teaching support, from hardware and software planning to course design and on-site instruction, helping the school introduce recent AI applications accessibly. Through school partnerships, the company hopes more teachers and students will understand:
With suitable tools and thoughtful teaching design, AI can do more than generate pictures or chat. It can support teaching innovation, strengthen motivation and develop creative capabilities.
Students completed the full process from character design and technical operation to stage presentation, discovering that they too could become virtual influencers. As avatars moved with them on screen, AI became a practical force supporting their growth and opening new possibilities for learning.
